Settings

Settings hold the store-wide configuration that applies across every plan and subscriber. They're grouped into a few areas, reachable from the Settings section of the bc-subscriptions admin.

Payment

Connect the processor that runs your renewals — BC Payments (if your store has it enabled) or Stripe. No subscription renews until a processor is connected, so this is the first thing to set up.

This area also holds your capture timing preference (when a customer's card is charged relative to order placement).

Capture timing is advisory today

You can set a capture-timing preference now, but enforcement activates in a later release (see ADR-0038). Today the setting records your intent; renewals capture on the platform default until enforcement ships. The admin shows this same note inline so you're never guessing.

Notifications

Customer-facing email lives here — see Notifications & email. You can override the default copy for each notification (welcome, renewal, dunning stages, term-end nudge) and configure a custom sending domain so emails come from your brand.

Dunning

The retry-and-recover flow for declined renewals. See the Dunning guide for how soft and hard declines are handled and how to tune the retry schedule.

Promotions

Store-wide promotion defaults. Individual promotions are created and reported on from the Promotions section.

Feature flags

Toggles for opt-in behavior (for example, combined shipments and the dunning retry window). These are advanced settings — the defaults are sensible for most stores, and each flag explains what it changes before you turn it on.
